ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes, your pets are very important to us! We're insured & bonded through Pet Sitters Associates. 

DO YOU HIRE IC'S OR EMPLOYEES?

We proudly hire employees not independent contractors (ICs).

What's the difference? Employees are trained, supervised, and covered under our company's liability insurance and workers' compensation. Independent contractors work for themselves and are responsible for carrying their own insurance and workers' compensation coverage. Most dog walking companies who hire IC's don't require their IC's to carry their own insurance. We believe hiring employees provides greater consistency, accountability, and peace of mind for our clients.

DO YOU REQUIRE A MIN AMOUNT OF VISITS PER WEEK?

Not at all! Unlike many other pet care companies, we don’t have a minimum weekly visit requirement. We understand that your schedule and your pet’s needs can change from week to week, and we’re happy to provide care whenever you need us. Our goal is to offer flexible, reliable service that works for you.

DO YOU HAVE REFERENCES?

Yes! Please check out our testimonials on this site, Google, and Yelp. If you'd like to speak with some of our references we would be happy to provide you with their phone numbers after our meet and greet.

DO YOU PROVIDE BOARDING SERVICES?

Unfortunately, we do not. We provide in-home pet sitting in our client's homes.

HOW MUCH NOTICE DO YOU REQUIRE FOR LAST MINUTE SERVICES?

Requests are welcome at anytime. We do kindly ask that our clients send us their requests by noon on Wednesdays for the following week so we can give the team their schedules in advanced but feel free to send requests anytime, we're flexible and can usually accommodate just about every request. If you'd like, we can also set you up with a recurring schedule on our software so you don't need to remember to make weekly requests. We’re dedicated to making our clients' lives as stress-free as possible.

DO YOU ONLY OFFER DOG CARE?

Our name may be called You Lucky Doggy but we care for pets of all kinds! We have experience caring for dogs, cat, fish, reptiles, birds, rodents, chickens, and even farm animals! 

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

At this time we offer dog walks, pet sitting visits (very limited availability), chicken care, cat visits, small critter care, and positive reinforcement dog training.

DO YOU OFFER PET SITTING & OVERNIGHTS?

Yes we do. At this time we have very limited availability for pet sitting & overnights. Overnight care is only available to weekly You Lucky Doggy clients. 

DO I GET TO MEET MY WALKER/SITTER?

One of the benefits of hiring us is that you get the support of an entire team. We know life happens, and our staff is always ready to back each other up in case of an emergency. While we do our best to keep your pets with their regular walker or sitter, occasional rotation may be needed depending on the length of your trip or sitter availability.

You Lucky Doggy Pet Care Policies & Procedures

 

Meet & Greets

We require a meet and greet in your home before services may begin. At this time you can show us where your dog's leash, food, and treats are kept. We will also go over your dog's routine, go through our payment and cancellation policies. We will also go over any questions you may have on how to use our app. All meet and greets are up to 20 minutes. 

Payment

Payments are due every Monday morning, following the completion of services. Clients who schedule dog sitting or cat sitting are required to pay their invoice in full, one week prior to their departure.

Cancellations

All dog walking visits must be cancelled within 48 hours. Clients will be charged for their scheduled visit if 48 hours notice isn't given.

We understand that emergencies happen or people get sick so in this case we try to be as flexible with our cancellation policy as possible. 


All dog sitting or cat sitting cancellations must be made at least one week prior to departure or clients will be charged for their scheduled visits.


*If school or flights are cancelled due to extreme weather conditions our cancellation policy will be waived.  


Entry

 We highly recommend our clients use either a door/ garage code or lock box to gain access to your home. Juggling keys is tricky and we want ensure the continued safety of your home and be able to provide you service on short notice or in case of emergency. Please check out the lock box below that we recommend.

Snow Removal

 Clients are responsible for their own snow removal, You Lucky Doggy does not provide snow removal services. You Lucky Doggy charges 1.5X regular rate if driveway or pathway have 5 inches or more of snow at time of visit. In the event the snow plow doesn’t clear in time the client can either change time of service or cancel service.  

Job Sharing During Pet Sitting Visits

Your pet's safety is our main concern as well as the safety of your home. This is why we do not permit other people in your home while under our care while you're away. We will not be held responsible for accidents/ issues with your pets or home when someone who isn't on the You Lucky Doggy team is involved. Our insurance will not cover both parties.   

Minimum Pet Sitting Visit Requirements

All clients that are away for 24 hours or more are required to book at least three pet sitting visits for their dogs, four pet sitting visits if your dog is in a crate. Cat visit clients are required to book at least one visit daily. This ensures the safety of your pets. 

Dog Walk Arrival Times

All dog walk visits will be within a 2-3 hour window of the agreed arrival time.

Aggressive Behavior

If your pet has a history of aggressive behavior or if your pet has no history of aggressive behavior but starts to show new signs of aggression, You Lucky Doggy has the right to refuse service. The owner will be responsible for the pet sitter's medical care expenses and damages that result from an animal bite.

Vaccinations

We require all pets to be up to date on their rabies vaccine. Please provide us a photo copy through our app so we can keep our records up to date.
